Final Masterclass speakers and sessions announced
We are delighted to announce the details and speakers for the final two panels of our Masterclass Still Relevant? Marketing with Music Videos in 2019 on Friday 17th May.
First up for a session entitled How Not To Be Invisible: Music Videos and Artist Identity , we welcome back Dutch Van Spall, owner of artist development agency and event sponsor, Big Help Music. This session will look at the importance of music videos in defining the identity of an artist and helping them find an audience, focusing in particular on the importance of collaboration between filmmaker and artist.
This will be followed by a Q&A session entitled Collaboration is Key: How Artists and Filmmakers Create Together with ViX, lead singer of Midlands pop-punk legends Fuzzbox. With a career in music videos dating back to the 1980s (including collaborations with Young Ones and Bottom star Ade Edmondson) and a video that the producer of The Chart Show once described as his favourite of all time, ViX has experience working with filmmakers at a variety of budgets and creative levels. This talk will discuss her career, the videos she’s produced or starred in and the experience of competing in and winning the 2017 2Weeks 2Make It MIdlands competition. Useful advice for competition entrants and any bands or filmmakers interested in learning the craft of music video collaboration!
